Strength Training 101 Part Two

This is the second instalment of Introduction to Strength Training. This class includes exercises for the posterior chain (back of the body) and if you have not watched the tutorial on the Hinge movement, please do so here.

This class does a circuit of exercises: The Hip Hinge, Seated Row with the band, Seated Knee Extension, Band Pull Apart and the Lunge.

Everyone's starting point and progress is going to be completely different so it is important to work at a pace and level that you feel is appropriate to you. Stay on Strength Training Pt 1& 2 until you feel ready to progress. You should choose a resistance band that you can perform at least 10 repetitions with excellent form but you feel have challenged your muscles. If you cannot complete 10 repetitions with good form without fatigue, please use a lighter band.

Note on lunges: If you have knee issues, told not to do lunges or simply cannot do them without pain - please leave out this movement and seek advise from a physio if needs be.
